High-End workshop with Emirates 2025
Events
Description
Dubai is a growing tourist market with many of its residents having high disposable incomes. Like in many other markets, we are increasingly seeing demand from high-end tourists shifting away from opulence and grandeur towards experiential holidays. This, combined with Norway’s natural beauty, unique cultural experiences and cooler climate, makes Norway and interesting holiday destination.
This is reflected in flight statistics from Emirates which report a 40% increase from September 2022 - October 2023. In June they had a growth of 110% vs. 2022 and the growth has continued beyond the autumn. The willingness to pay is very high - to say the least, and Emirates increased revenue on UAE-Norway travelers by 60% in the same period.
In cooperation with Emirates airline, Visit Norway arranges a workshop for Norwegian partners giving them an opportunity to meet over 40 tour operators and agents from the region. The workshop is not a traditional workshop with pre-arranged meetings, but one in which the buyers move along tables and networking takes place over lunch. To ensure partner get the most out of this event, Visit Norway will a combine the workshop with a competence day.
This is a very cost-efficient way of reaching new and maintaining relations with existing buyers within this market.
Who is this activity for?
Level of experience
We highly encourage companies with an existing B2B network and experience, whether they are relatively new to the market or already possess strong market knowledge.
Type of companies
We strongly encourage the following types of companies to attend: activities, hotel chains, independent hotels, other type of accommodation, national incoming operators.
Type of products and seasons
We encourage providers that have corresponding products to attend:
- Can promote sustainable travel / slow travel / electrical travel
- Offer outdoor soft activities
- Can promote activities / products on showcasing the Norwegian cultural heritage
- Have focus on local food / Norwegian food treasure
- Have focus on Sami culture
The residents of Dubai travel all year round, but are particularly keen to avoid the hot summer months in their own country. Having said that, Northern lights, snow and winter activities are seen as very exotic, as is the Norwegian culture and gastronomy.
Who are the buyers?
The buyer will serve different segment, but they will all facilitate high-end travelers and many will focus only on this segment, so it is important that Norwegian partners that attend can service this sector.
