Easy access

An extensive rail network links Norway to the other Scandinavian countries and the rest of Europe.

You can reach Norway by bus from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Russia. There are bus services almost every hour from Gothenburg in Sweden and Copenhagen in Denmark. The bus service to Stockholm is far more frequent than the train. Different operators offer cheap bus tickets between the large cities in Norway, Denmark and Sweden.

Norway also has an extensive network of domestic bus routes.

You are most likely to arrive by car from Sweden, but Norway also borders to Russia and Finland. Major roads to Norway include European route E6 which, runs through Malmö, Helsingborg, and Gothenburg in Sweden, and E8, which runs through Turku, Vaasa and Oulu in Finland. The Norwegian Coastal Steamer Hurtigruten offers meeting facilities, so it is perfectly possible to combine business and pleasure surrounded by the fabulous landscape of the Norwegian coastline.

Norway’s biggest airport is Oslo Airport, with international flights to around 140 destinations. You can fly direct to Oslo in only a couple of hours from most European travel hubs, and in around seven hours from the US.

From Oslo Airport you can reach Oslo city centre in 20 minutes by Flytoget Airport Express Train. Cheaper express buses and local trains are also available.

Many European cities also offer direct flights to destinations like Bergen, Stavanger, Tromsø, Trondheim and Ålesund. Even remote places like the Lofoten Islands and the Svalbard Islands are accessible by plane, although you will have to change to a domestic flight in Oslo or another city.
