Background & Goals UK Forums

In the UK there are a number of events arranged by the big publishing houses throughout the year. The events take place over 2-3 days and are a mixture of face-to-face pre-arranged meetings, presentations and networking.  These are excellent places to promote Norway, meet new customers and to network with existing customers. It is important to spread Norway’s participation at these events throughout the year so that we are visible in many places as Norway is still an unknown destination and we must work to be top-of-mind. We have previously only targeted forums that focus on agencies, but we tested a forum targeting corporates in 2019 and will continue to try this for 2020 as it is very difficult to meet corporate planners, yet they often have the final say in determining destinations. We have prioritised the forums that are either new or that we see as particularly suitable for new entrants to the UK market, as long standing partners know many of the established platforms.

The goal for this opportunity is to meet new customers interested in Norway, network and inform existing customers about news in Norway. We also expect 5 good leads per event.

The reason we choose this type of activities is that the publishing houses have the database and the budget to create events that MICE agencies want to attend; hence you meet some of the best in the business. The events match you with relevant buyers and are very sociable making it easy to form lasting relationships with UK buyers. Personal relationships are very important in the UK market.

By spreading Norway’s attendance across many of these event we also ensure we are visible in the market throughout the year.

C&IT International Forum June date TBC, probably in Porto 

C&IT international forum is a small, intimate event with 30 agencies that have international business.  There are pre-arranged meetings and networking activities, enabeling partners to build some good contacts with UK buyers. This is an excellent meeting place for partners that are new to the UK market.

It is a combination of one-to one meetings and networking and would suit partners that can offer products that  are seen as very exclusive and unique to the UK market.

This is a small agency forum with 20-25 event professionals that spend significant budget on incentive travel and the luxury segment. They are looking for "money-can't buy" experiences. 

We will invite mostly tour operators from Moscow and St.Petersburg who have been selling Norway for years, and some are willing, able and ready to start selling. The quality  partners only.
