Digital webinar and workshop "A taste of Norway"

Date: Originally planned 8th of November: Now Postponed

Hosting digital webinars and one to one meetings, we will be able to increase knowledge and interact with these markets.
It will be a good approach with the EXPO coming up, where we will consider a tourism presence if possible.

Background and goals

Saudi Arabia opened up for tourists inbound in 2019. When Norwegians started travelling to SA, the interest for Norway increased. Word of mouth is also valuable: if one has been to Norway and speaks nicely about it, others wants to go. TV shows documentaries about Norway, and one of the most seen series on HBO is “Vikings”

The Embassy receives many requests and see a huge interest in Norway. The interest were also there before the pandemic, as Norway & Scandinavia were more important, and an upgoing trend from this market.

SA sees Norway as very attractive: easy to find and buy halal food. Women can be covered without feeling uncomfortable. And it is very profitable to buy luxury goods in Norway.

There is a green wave in these countries, electric cars are getting very popular. There is a huge interest on fresh food (seafood!), and nature.
We target middle to high end income travellers, and both MICE and leisure. Business travellers bring very often their families, and combines business and leisure travel (Bleisure).
Travellers always use a travel agency for their trips. And the TA are looking for packages – ready made products/programs.
